I have many thoughts & opinions after today's game and I thought it would be the best idea to just mix them in to a blog.

This season has been a success points wise, Scottish Cup run, But not performance wise as today showed a lack of footballing knowledge from both management and players, No desire to go to the next gear, Ruined chances, Poor formation to start with. I thought the line up was a bit too defensive for such a big game specially this season and it's silverware added to the famous Ibrox trophy room. Playing Kyle Hutton ahead of Dean Shiels really baffled me and I really didn't notice him even playing today hence my tweet which I will not quote on this post but Dean offers much more than Hutton in attacking tempo and a vision for a pass, Hutton today looked like he was already on post match season holiday along with a number of players. That is not the Rangers way, We are a club that doesn't give 100% week in week out any more where is the desire, commitment, pride and battle fever we used to see from the likes of Novo, Davie Cooper, Laudrup, Gazza, McCoist himself etc?

Players like Bilel Mohsni have gotten away with being too causal this season and it showed today with him doing many mistakes and the all important one what led to the goal today. We have many weak points in the squad, You would never hear that sentence to do with Rangers before the Ally years... Well apart from the Paul Le Guen era but I won't go in to that. From this season the positives I can take are not the performances just the promotion and the youngsters such as Callum Gallagher, Fraser Aird, Lewis McLeod (Who I wish all the best in his recovery) and the Scottish Cup run.

Players such as Arnold Peralta, Bilel Mohnsi, Kyle Hutton, Stevie Smith, Richard Foster, Jon Daly have been very poor of late and some of them poor all season and I do ask myself this why did Ally sign these players, We've hardly seen Stevie Smith until the start of 2014 he has a great free kick on him but that's all what's going for him. Talking of free kicks, I'm very tired of seeing 3 players around a free kick and we end up doing a 3 touch free kick. Absolutely pointless.

Corners from Aird today looked a lot better than usual. Anyway's back to the players mentioned what is the point in Arnold Peralta, Gets played out of position, He came to us on a reputation to get stuck in, But all he does is miskicks the ball and wears green boots. Richard Foster has had a couple of good games but a bit too much of a liability like most of our back four, Lee McCulloch is not a centre back, I'd like to see him in centre midfield. Nicky Law's performances after Christmas have gone down hill a bit, He has so much potential in him.

Manager wise- Ally McCoist- What a legend of a man, Fantastic footballer would love to have seen him play. But for me he has struggled to be a manager although our unbeaten run in the league that's been the best part about him, I don't know if it's because of the media always focusing on the finances of the club or maybe he can't handle this type of job just yet. Sometimes this season he has had his tactics spot and sometimes not, I'm not expecting him to make us play like Bayern Munich or Barcelona, I just want him to get the lads buzzing, pumped up and push on, But I don't see that happening.

Is it time to move on? I'm not sure but what I would like to see is a more desire driven, motivated Glasgow Rangers team. Where we can push our youngsters and players like Templeton and Law to the next level of quality. Is Ally the right man for that? So far he's shown nothing that many fans are interested in as we seem to fade away near the end of the season. I would love to have kept McAusland & McKay in the squad instead of loaning them out.

That's me said my part, Bring on Dundee Utd! We Are The People!

Clarets on Tour- Southend 2-0 Northampton

Welcome to a new post this will be a little report/post on what happened today. Lets kick this off seeing as our game was called off (Chelmsford away to Farnborough) due to Farnborough not filing their admin stuff in time for the 3pm deadline which was a massive disappointment as it's the first league game and it was FREE! Tinpot stuff from Paddy Power & Farnborough if you haven't heard the story read here - my opinion is that it was a ridiculous idea and has put Non League football to shame and hopefully Farnborough get points deduction or as Paddy Power's advert says ' Ball of Shame '

Anyway's me and my mates thought it would be a good idea to get a football fix it was either Concord, Bishop Stortford or Southend United. We chose Southend United as not many of us have been to Roots and we don't want to be going to a non league ground what were already going to this season ( Just my view )

We all met up at Chelmsford railway station and it was packed solid with V Festival attendees, Me and Ben came up early and I thought to get the time down I would pay for the tickets straight away as expected the queues were long and the station was packed. Everyone turned up at 12.30 ready to board the 12.40 train to Shenfield  a good train journey up there with the lads and Bug on tour We met up with a fellow claret who was already on the train from Shenfield, We got the the train to Prittlewell which wasn't too far from Shenfield and not a long walk to the football ground at Roots Hall. Saw a few Cobblers fans I wanted to go mix with them but the others didn't so I didn't bother going on my jones.

We headed off to the ground and tried to find the ticket office but we got the wrong ticket office. But Lewis asked a steward and we found the right place we went inside and there is a clubshop then the ticket office. We queued up and it didn't take very long to get served ( good customer service! ) We bought the tickets and we ended up getting an extra ticket so I thought it was a good idea to shout out ' Senior away ticket for sale '  If anyone wanted to buy the ticket but no luck.

We headed into the ground, Not the greatest ever ground in the football league but the away end is fantastic to create an atmosphere which was later found out. We found our seats as you can sit where ever you like very good that. The Northampton fans started coming in and they started a few chants of ' Come on you Cobblers ' and Claret & White army. There was some great banter between both set of fans specially the ' Fat Jimmy Saville ' as the Northampton fans chanted with a few chants of ' 20/20 ' towards the win against Essex in the cricket today. It was a really cracking day with Northampton bringing 392 fans although on their forum they expected between 600- 1100 which is not great, So to sum the game up - The game was good but Northampton's sending off let them down and it could've been a different game but it was still an entertaining game with the goals by Straker & Eastwood for the Shrimps I thought Southend were a good passing side and physical and Northampton lacked that encouragement to go forward as they sat back due to the sending off and they also missed a penalty in the first half.

So there you have it a little post not the best I know but it was rushed and no preparation anyway's you can follow @BugOnTour for all things football thanks for reading and have a good evening!

I am back!

Just wanted to say that due to new ideas I have came up with, I will be doing a much improved blog where I will be going to different non league grounds all over Essex. So far I have made up a list of matches I will be going to next month ( July ) when pre season starts. This is a great way to promote non league football an myself on a personal level. I have just recently been told that I can write for to cover non league due to my knowledge of the game down in the lower levels. Some parts I still don't know about but I'm still young an ready for learning an it's a great way to build up contacts.

To get you guys ( and ladies ) involved I want to know what teams I should visit an also players/managers to interview for this blog.

I have so many plans an I will keep you updated with this. I will do no more than the same team 3 times a month just so that I can get around I am hoping to do around 11 matches next month then when the season starts hoping for around 7 a month.

So if you want to get in contact with me my email is
